Enter the profit you want and your costs, and get the exact price to list at — after every 2026 Etsy fee.
Based on 2026 US Etsy fees (6.5% transaction, 3% + $0.25 processing, $0.20 listing). Rounds to the price that nets your target — verify against your Etsy statement.
Most sellers pick a price and hope. Start from the profit you want and let the fees decide the number.
Tell it your target profit; it works backward through every Etsy fee to the exact price you should list at.
Stop under-pricing. See the real number that leaves the margin you actually want after fees.

Built on Etsy's current fees — 6.5% transaction, 3% + $0.25 US processing, offsite ad tiers.
The equation behind the calculator, what each profit target costs in list price, and how offsite ads and physical costs move the number.
The usual approach is to pick a price that feels right, subtract costs, and accept whatever profit is left. That gets the order of operations backwards, because Etsy's cut is proportional — every time you change the price you change the fee, which changes the profit you were trying to protect.
Pricing backwards fixes the profit and solves for the price. With a fee rate of 9.5% and $0.45 in fixed fees, the price you need is (target profit + $0.45 + your costs) ÷ 0.905. That is the equation this calculator runs, and it is why the answer is never a round number.
With no item cost and no shipping, a digital download keeps most of its price. These are the prices that deliver each profit target on a normal (non-offsite-ad) US sale.
| You want to keep | List at | Profit as % of price |
|---|---|---|
| $5 | $6.02 | 83% |
| $10 | $11.55 | 87% |
| $15 | $17.07 | 88% |
| $20 | $22.60 | 89% |
| $25 | $28.12 | 89% |
Notice the margin percentage improves as the price rises and then flattens near 89%. That ceiling is the 9.5% proportional fee — no amount of price increase escapes it, but the $0.45 fixed portion stops mattering above about $20.
If a sale arrives through Etsy's Offsite Ads, another 15% (or 12% for shops over $10k a year) comes off the top. Pricing for that case protects the margin on every order rather than only the clean ones:
| Target profit | Price without ads | Price to survive a 15% ad |
|---|---|---|
| $10 | $11.55 | $13.84 |
| $20 | $22.60 | $27.09 |
Whether to price this way is a judgement call. If offsite ads drive a small share of your orders, pricing for them makes you uncompetitive on the rest. If you are over the $10k threshold and cannot opt out, pricing somewhere between the two columns is the pragmatic answer.
The transaction fee applies to shipping too
Etsy charges its 6.5% on the item price, the shipping you charge, gift wrap, and personalisation — not just the item. Free shipping is not free: you are paying 6.5% on money you never collected separately.
Once there is an item cost and real postage, the price climbs faster than sellers expect. A print that costs $4 to produce and $5 to ship, listed with $5 shipping charged to the buyer:
| Target profit | List price | Plus shipping |
|---|---|---|
| $10 | $16.49 | $5 |
| $15 | $22.02 | $5 |
The same $10 profit needs $11.55 as a digital file and $16.49 as a physical print — a 43% higher price for the identical take-home. That gap is the entire argument for digital downloads in this category.

Start from the profit you want to keep per sale, then add every Etsy fee and your costs on top. This calculator does that math in reverse: enter your target profit and costs, and it returns the price to list at.
On a typical US sale Etsy takes roughly 9.5% + $0.45 (more with offsite ads), so you need to price above your cost plus that. The calculator handles it exactly so you don't have to estimate.
You can toggle Offsite Ads on to price for a worst-case sale that came from one (15% or 12%). Leave it off to price for a normal sale.
